Privacy Policy
dab-dab is a quiet little journal — a page a day, however small. A doodle, a few words, a photo, a couple of dabs of colour. It lives entirely on your phone, and stays there: no accounts, no cloud, no analytics, no ads, and no one peeking over your shoulder. What you make stays with you. We never see it.
What we collect
Nothing — truly. dab-dab has no servers of its own, so there is nowhere for your information to go. No personal details, no usage analytics, no device identifiers. It was built that way on purpose.
Your journal stays yours
Your pages — drawings, notes, photos, backgrounds — live on your device and nowhere else. A single snapshot of today's page is tucked into a private container on your phone, just so the optional home-screen widget can show it. Nothing leaves your device, and it is all gone the moment you delete the app.
Camera & photos
- Camera (optional): used only when you choose to take a photo for a sticker. The picture is handled entirely on your phone.
- Photo Library: you pick a photo through Apple's own picker, and dab-dab sees only the one you choose. Cut-outs are traced right on your device with Apple's Vision framework.
- Saving: an exported page goes to your Photo Library only with your okay. dab-dab never reads the photos already there.
Purchases
dab-dab+ and the lifetime unlock are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details — that part is between you and Apple, under Apple's Privacy Policy.
Notifications
Turn on the gentle daily reminder and it is scheduled right on your device. Nothing about it is sent anywhere.
Analytics & tracking
None. No analytics, no ad networks, no tracking SDKs. dab-dab does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), and it never follows you across other apps or websites.
Children's privacy
dab-dab collects nothing from anyone — children included. There is simply nothing gathered to begin with.
Keeping or clearing your data
Because everything lives on your device, it is yours to keep or clear. Delete a page and its files go with it; delete the app and all of dab-dab goes too.
Your rights & control
Since your journal stays on your device and we hold none of it, there is nothing for us to look up, change, export, or erase on your behalf — you are already in full control. Questions about your rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA? Just reach out below.
Changes to this policy
If anything here changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Nothing hidden, nothing sprung on you.
